RENOWNED karate champion, Sensei Morgan Moss, held a kumite seminar in Margate last week.

Young and old came to learn new skills in kumite and self-
defence under the World karate Federation on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“Throughout the sessions I
focused on principle development through the use of various skill set development exercises. Sometimes the principle was introduced through an element of play. This area should not be taken for granted because it plays a significant rule in athlete development,” said Moss.

He said the ultimate goal of the camp was to work towards the ADC of kumite - A - attack, D - defence and C - counter).

“Each movement can be applied using these principles and the training of these ADC skill sets often resembles a competition fight scenario,” he said.

Moss is a three-time WKF world champion. - Supplied.
