TYLER Hogan from the Suid Natal Martial Arts Academy recently represented South Africa at Afican Union Sports Council Region Five Karate Championships in Gaborone, Botswana and received a silver medal for Kata in the Cadet category.

Due to Tyler’s numerous excellent achievements over the past few weeks in a number of karate events, he was further awarded his protea colours and was selected as part of an elite South African team to represent his country at The Youth Olympic Qualifier and Training Camp to be held in Umag, Croatia from June 29 to July 9, 2018.

Tyler will be attending the event with the best karateka from countries around the world as many current and previous world champions will be part of the training team in Croatia.

“This is an outstanding achievement and an unbelievable experience for Tyler and we wish him everything of the best,” said Sensei Coenie Vrey from Suid Natal Martial Arts Academy.
