THE final round of the Bargain Express Car competition was held at the Ezingolweni Bargain Express store on Saturday.

Scores of shoppers attended in anticipation of winning the coveted Chevrolet Utility bakkie. Durban-based comedian Muthu Murugan and his band of musicians kept the crowds entertained throughout the show, all the while giving away lots of gifts and prizes.

The area chief Queen Cele as well as the ANC PR Councillor Thozi Maureen Cele also graced the event with their presence. Speaking at the event, Cele said she was grateful to Bargain Express for granting her people a once in a lifetime opportunity at realising what was, for many of them, a dream.

“I am specifically happy because most of the finalists standing a chance to win the car are Celes, so they are family,” said Cele with a chuckle.

The final draw was a nerve wracking experience for the five finalists as all the keys issued did not turn the car open until the very last key.

In the end it was school teacher Phumzile Ncayiyane who walked away with the brand new Chevrolet Utility bakkie. She said she was out of words at the win.

“I am so happy. I don’t even know what to say. God is good,” said Ncayiyane from KwaMaci.
