LOCAL model Zizo Sonjica (20) is a finalist for Miss Eagle South Africa 2018 and says she enjoys nothing more than uplifting her community through various charity initiatives.

Sonjica who is currently working at Wild Coast Sun as a revenue controller intern and was born and raised in the Mzamba area.

She says it has always been her goal to help the needy and entering the competition has given her the platform to do so.

“I have always been passionate about making a difference and being part being part of Miss Eagle South Africa has helped me in various ways since MESA is a women empowerment contest using the “beauty with brains and purpose” platform to empower young women to grow and develop themselves by making a positive impact in their communities and that is what I strive for,” said Sonjica.

On Mandela Day, Sonjica was part of a team that visited Isigidi J.S.S. with the Wild Coast Sun CSI team to donate school shoes and fruit packs for pupils, after which she said the little change one does in someone’s life is very important and it makes you feel good as a human being.

“Due to the knowledge and experience I have and everything I’ve leant growing up and in the beauty industry, I have opened a platform for young, immature men and women where we teach them how to model, question and answer sessions and how to behave as a normal human beings because I believe as a young woman you always have a dream and that dream will always take you to the right direction as long as you have someone you can look up to and rely on,” she said.
