Looking for descendants

2018-02-08 06:00

I AM attempting to contact descendants of George Samuel Jones, printer (baptised at St Dunstan, Stepney, Middlesex, Eng¬land, October 4, 1842 — father George Jones, printer, mother Elizabeth).

George Samuel and his wife Harriet sailed from England on the “Priscilla”, arriving in Durban on September 30, 1874, with their children Harriet Frances, Frederick George and Edwin Arthur. When George’s wife Harriet died in 1918, the family was living in Maritzburg. George Samuel Jones is the older brother of my great-grandfather James Frances Jones. From the time I was young, my family spoke often of my great-grandfather’s brother who went to Natal to work on a newspaper. Should someone reading this letter be one of George Samuel Jones’s descendants, we would love to hear from you. My name is Myrna Singer. I live in British Columbia, Canada. You can contact me at singer61@telus.net or by letter at 60 — 53A Street, Delta, B.C. V4M 3C4, Canada.
