Man arrested for wife’s murder

2018-11-22 06:03

A 37-YEAR-OLD man was arrested by Hibberdene police for allegedly killing his wife in Hibberdene last Wednesday.

According to police, at 8.15 pm the deceased (39) was with her husband at the Leisuredene area when he fatally shot her.

“She sustained gunshots wounds to the head. The suspect reported the matter to the police, claiming that the deceased was shot by two unknown males,” said police spokesperson lieutenant colonel Thembeka Mbhele. However, Mbhele said an intensive police investigation eventually linked the man to the murder.

The suspect appeared in the Umzumbe Magistrates Court on Monday this week.

The case was remanded until November 19 when the suspect will apply for bail.
