A MAN has been arrested in connection with the body that was found floating at the Margate Pier last Wednesday, 10 August.

Nkosiphendule Jayzee Xolo (29,) appeared in the Ramsgate High Court on 11 August and remains in custody for further investigation.

The body of a black male, aged about 35, was found floating at the Margate Pier by search and rescue members after receiving a call.

Police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka said at about 6am SAPS received a call about the body.

“The Port Shepstone Search and Rescue members found the body with stab wounds on the back and chest and suspect it had been dragged into the water,” said Mfeka

Mfeka said the man could possibly have been a car guard because he was wearing a reflective jacket.
