Man arrested with large amounts of dagga

A 53-YEAR-OLD man from the Msikaba Ward in Betania was arrested after he was found with two big plastic bags and 113 small parcels of dagga in Port Shepstone last week. Port Shepstone SAPS spokesperson captain Gerald Mfeka said that members of the Port Shepstone Crime Prevention acted on information received when they made the arrest last Thursday. The man appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate court on April 13 and the case was remanded to May 17.

“The public is urged to come forward with information that will assist police to arrest drug dealers and other criminals to make their communities safer. Report suspicious activities and reject and report the sale of stolen property”, said Mfeka.

“Blow the whistle on persons in possession of illegal firearms. Work together with your local CPF structures within your community”, Mfeka said.

Police officers involved in the arrests were Constables Fana
Mbatha,Thandokuhle Shezi,Siyasanga Mngwe, Dumisani Zulu, Mthokozisi Khoso and Banele Mbutho.
