Man assaulted with panga near Izotsha

A MAN sustained serious head injuries after being assaulted with a panga on the R61 near Izotsha on Friday evening.

Netcare paramedics found the man lying on the side of the road.

“We received a call about a man who was struck on the head with a panga near the intersection of the R61 and the Izotsha Road. There were also indications that the man was robbed of his belongings,” said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.

He was stabilised at the scene before being transported to hospital.
