A THIRTY-FOUR-YEAR-OLD man from Gamalakhe was stabbed to death during an altercation at a tavern in Kwa Xaba ward in Gamalakhe last Wednesday.

The police have identified the victim as Sanele Ngidi.

Port Shepstone police spokesperson Captain Petros Mpinge said the deceased sustained stab wounds to his chest after allegedly having an argument with another client at the tavern.

“He was rushed to a clinic where he was certified dead.

“A murder case has been opened for investigation at Gamalakhe SAPS,” said Mpinge.

The suspect appeared in court on Friday and the case was remanded to December 5.
