Margate employer accused of rape

2017-05-18 06:01

MARGATE SAPS detectives have arrested a 63-year-old man after he allegedly raped his 30-year-old employee. The incident is said to have happened between January and May while the victim was employed at his residence in Margate.

The matter was reported to the police on May 5.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the victim told the police she had been afraid to report the matter earlier as she is the sole breadwinner at home.

The suspect appeared at the Ramsgate Court and the case was postponed to May 15. He is still in custody and the case is being investigated by Margate SAPS. - Supplied.
