A 55-YEAR-OLD man appeared in Port Shepstone court on Friday on charges of rape, sexual assault and displaying pornographic material to minor children.

The man will remain in custody until his bail application on Friday.

It is alleged that the man, who lived close to his eight victims, all aged between four and 10, at Msikaba ward in Betania, would lure them to his house and play games with them using a sex toy.

He also allegedly touched and penetrated them. The man was arrested on 31 March by Lieutenant Simphiwe Shusha from Port Shepstone detectives.

Captain Jurie Meyer and Warrant Officer Fritz Edwards from Port Shepstone SAPS assisted him with the arrest. Constable Nurse Magubane from Port Shepstone Family Child and Sexual Offences unit is investigating the case. - Supplied.
