THE Mighty Swallows of Gamalakhe made it through to the next round of the LFA Zincume League. The team’s win against Seven Starts in Bambayi Sports Field, Gamalakhe on Saturday, December 8, saw them move up the log despite their late start in the league.

The full-time score was 3-1 in favour of Mighty Swallows. Sazile Mbanjwa, their coach, said the team had done very well by winning against some of the top teams and moving up the log quickly even though it is still early days of the tournament.

There are 20 teams in the league; 14 games have been played.

“We are aiming to be the fron-runners of the league. The tournament will end around August 2019, so we are putting in the work now in every match,” said Mbanjwa.

“We want to play in tougher leagues ... We want to grow and take part in tournaments such as the Ayanda Gcaba Tournament and many more,” he added.

The Mighty Swallows’ next game will take place early next year, when they play against Mtamvuna FC.
