Amahle Ngaleka was crowned Miss Tourism Universe South Africa 2016 last Saturday in Mpumalanga - the first Miss Tourism Universe SA winner. The Miss Gamalakhe 2015, Ngaleka has now qualified to represent South Africa in Lebanon and Western Asia in another pageant later this year. Ngaleka walked away with a new car, a fully furnished house in Durban, cash, gadgets, travelling bags and a new wardrobe. Ngeleka said words failed her when her name was called out, naming her the winner. “Winning was proof that God is real and my faith can move mountains. “I am happy that my life has now taken a new turn. I will expand my grandmother’s tuck shop and empower and inspire girls all over South Africa, not only in my communityNgaleka recently passed her driver’s licence.“The car came at a good time because I no longer have to worry about going for driving lessons.” Ngaleka said the other good news is that her grandmother won’t have to walk to the clinic.“My grandmother will no longer have to walk to the clinic. It also means I will be able to visit lots of places to see what change I can bring to those in need, and those who need that one word that will change their lives and way of thinking,” she saidNgaleka recently opened a modelling agency, and this win means she “can take care of everything”. She said perseverance and hard work is the key to success and encouraged aspiring models to persevere. “If you believe in yourself, follow your dreams and trust in God, everything is possible.” Ngaleka will be coming home soon and a welcome-home event is in the pipeline.
