MTB festival draws close

ENTRIES are still open for this year’s Port Edward Holiday Resort Burry Stander MTB & Trail Run Sardine Festival.

The popular mountain bike and trail run event takes place from 2 to 3 July at the Port Edward Holiday Resort. Eight new changes and additions have been made to ensure this spectacular sporting weekend is bigger and better:

• The race will start the launch of the new South Coast MTB Series. Complete all five races and receive a limited edition Powerade series challenge golf shirt. Overall male and female winners stand a chance to claim R5 000.

• The 45km Classic will cycle through the world’s smallest desert

• The MTB races have moved to Saturday

• Trail run races will take place on Sunday, including a 20km descent from Clearwater Trail Centre to Port Edward Holiday Resort

• Saturday afternoon and evening will now include a festival vibe with a band, local craft beer, family bring ‘n braai, mini-MTB obstacle course, massage stations and more

• You will be supporting the main beneficiaries, The Burry Stander Foundation and NSRI

• Discovery Vitality members get up to 50% off the entry fee by completing the race (terms and conditions apply)

• All pre-entry participants will receive a 20% discount at Port Edward Holiday Resort if they book a weekend’s stay.
