Municipality should be more proactive

2016-08-18 06:00

I JUST saw that eThekwini has issued a water restriction. How is this when their own taps are in a mess? Every tap on the beach from Amanzimtoti to Margate is leaking.

A week and a half ago we went fishing in Park Rynie and the campsite has boom gates you have to pay R30 for the day. The stairs past the lifesavers building is flooded and a lifeguard said there was no water in the taps because they have a burst pipe.

Guess what, we went there a few days ago and that water is still streaming down the stairs. What is the municipality going to do to get their staff to be vigilant and caring and why don’t their staff report these things?
