KART Freaks in Margate has a new owner, Clint Green, who took over on 1 September from former owner Bart Koekermoer.

Clint comes from the construction industry, but has a love of go-karts as he designs his own . He was involved the recent Downhill Go-kart Racing Derby.

The go-kart racing park has also had a few additions done to it, including a sweet shop offering a variety of sweet treats and an ice-cream parlour.

Clint, always hands on with the support of his family, has revamped the car wash outside the track for clients to make full use of while watching track racing, and the track has been repainted black and red giving it an appropriate “roady” look.

The car wash has got new equipment offering excellent service at R60 per vehicle, no matter what the make. Discount is given to loyal customers - for every five washes you get one free. For more information, go to the Kart Freak Facebook page.

Trailer hire at Kart Freaks is also getting a makeover. With the upgrades of existing trailers and the addition of a new ones, you will find a trailer to suit your specific needs.

“We now also offer a pick-up and delivery service for the trailers. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for special offers.”

Clint said they will be soon introducing off-road go-karts, quad bikes, battery operated tri-bikes for toddlers and 20 new karts, which are on the way from China.

He described a day at Kart Freaks as full-on, inexpensive family entertainment with great service and plenty of smiling faces.

Future plans for Kart Freaks include “Café la Freak” with a snack bar and a party and toy shop with plenty of new toys for the children, and more. Packages are also available for children’s party or corporate functions.

“Friendliness and safety at the venue is key - the race park has gone from being a one-star attraction to a 3.1-star attraction, which will improve along the way,” says Green.

Kart Freaks is open from 8am to 6pm from Monday to Thursday. Depending on clientele, it opens from 8am to 8pm on Friday, 8am to 10pm on Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sunday.
