TWO local hairdressers have lived up to their business name and proved they really are “cutting edge” when it comes to hairstyling and make-up.

Roxanne Stone and Leandri Hattingh, due to customer demand, have opened a new Cutting Edge branch in Shelly Beach.

Stone runs the operation in Shelly Beach while Hattingh divides her attention between the Hibberdene and Shelly Beach branch.

“We’ve had a large amount of customers from the Shelly Beach area contact us for appointments, but when they heard we were based in Hibberdene, they said it was too far to travel,” said Hattingh.

“Roxanne worked for me before so I asked if she would be interested in joining the business again and she offered to partner with me,” said Hattingh.

Hattingh has 12 years experience in hair styling and make-up but her passion is make-up artistry.

“I love doing hair, especially hair colour, but my passion is make-up,” she said. Hattingh has had the honour of being chosen to complete her colour masters with Loreal Matrix later this year, an exam which only a few stylists in each province are handpicked for.

Stone has eight years experience behind her and also does everything hairdressing related, however she loves doing hair extensions.

“I love seeing a customer walk out with absolute confidence. A new hairstyle gives a person that self-esteem they want,” she said.

Running the Shelly Beach branch has been tremendously rewarding for Stone and Hattingh as they have built lots of new relationships through new and existing clientele.

Customers who bring in pet food or blankets from March 7 – 18 will receive 10% off their bill. These items will be donated to the SPCA.

For professional service, the latest trends in hair, makeup, nails and beauty look no further than Cutting Edge.
