THE NG Kerk Port Shepstone is holding an Afrikaans fund-raising bazaar at Hoërskool Suid-Natal on Saturday 6 August and invites the community to attend.

Joey Du Toit of the NG Kerk said the fund-raiser is in aid of church projects such as building maintenance, Zimbabwe Pensioner’s Project, its soup kitchen and school feeding project and assisting people with disability and many others.

Du Toit said they have gone “all out” for this year’s bazaar.

“This year we have traditional Afrikaans dishes like offal [curried tripe], samp and mielies, pap and kaaings [crackling] and also our white olifant stall,” said Du Toit.

Crafts, bead work, pancakes, and home-made boerewors, pancakes, jaffles, tea and cakes, pickles, jams, preserves, biscuits and other home-made treats will be available.

“We invite stallholders from the community to join us - stalls cost R60,” she said.

A children's play section will also be part of the event.

“A jumping castle and games will keep the children entertained,” she said.

For more information, and for stall booking, phone the church on 039 682 0266 from 9am to 4pm.
