REACH For A Dream and Wimpy have launched the 2018 Slipper Day campaign which was held on May 11. The annual campaign was aimed to raise funds and create awareness for children who are fighting for their lives with life threatening illnesses.

Organisations, schools and businesses participated in the initiative.

Wimpy’s all over participated, giving away free coffee to all those who supported the cause by purchasing a wrist band for R10.

The South Coast Fever staff visited the Wimpy on Margate Beach in support of the initiative.

Fever staff also purchased wrist bands from Wimpy Oribi Plaza and enjoyed some coffee. St Martin de Porres Comprehensive School staff also took the opportunity to work in their slippers on the day as well as staff from Albany Margate who were spotted at the Wimpy in the area.

Chief Executive Officer of Reach For A Dream, Julia Sotirianakos said she would like to thank everyone who supported the initiative.

“We would like to thank the entire community in the various areas for supporting us.

“We were trending all over social media and we really appreciate the support.”
