DRUGS to the value of over R2 000 were confiscated at a crime prevention operation in the St Faith’s area on Friday night.

A 27-year-old man was arrested with R1 350 worth of heroin in this possession.

Constable George Cetwayo from St Faiths charged him for dealing in drugs.

A 30-year-old man was arrested in his home by Constable Sphumelele Ndwalane with five capsules of heroin worth R250 in his possession.

Port Shepstone Public Order Policing unit arrested a 25-year-old man with 26 parcels of dagga weighing 0,52kg in his possession on Saturday in Marine Drive, Port Shepstone. The street value is R780.

A total of 58 people were charged in the Ugu cluster over the weekend for drug related offences such as possession of dagga or other drugs.

“Anyone with information regarding drug activities in their area, must contact their nearest police station. We are committed to investigate and trace the sources who are supplying the dealers with drugs in our cluster,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

“The selling of drugs among our communities should be everyone’s concern as many young lives are destroyed by drug abuse,” she added.

The men will appear in court soon. - Supplied.
