PORT Shepstone pastor, Sam Owdnehari of Turning Point Ministries, formerly Kings Way Ministries, died on Monday.

Reverend Owdenehari moved to Port Shepstone from the North Coast in 1981 to spread the Word of God. He reopened Kingsway chapel, which was closed at the time, and rebuilt it.

He initiated many community outreach programmes and fund-raisers.

His hard work towards the upliftment of the Marburg community will be remembered.

“He was a great man of God and a mentor to many in society. His selfless acts and the way he showed love for the people around him will never be forgotten.

“He will be missed and lovingly remembered,” said his daughter Samantha Samlall.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at Turning Point Ministries Church, 23 Victory Road in Umbango at 11am.

From there the procession will continue to the Izotsha cemetery from 3pm to 4pm.
