A 75-YEAR-OLD pensioner sustained serious injuries while trying to separate two dogs fighting at the Lilliecrona Boulevard in Uvongo on Tuesday.

Kwazulu Private Ambulance paramedics at the scene said that the patient was treated and transported to hospital in a stable condition.

“Both dogs, a cross breed and a pit bull, were also injured during the incident. The SPCA was called to assess and investigate the situation.

The patient’s dog (the cross breed) was taken to a local vet by Kwazulu Private Ambulance as well,” said KwaZulu Private Ambulance spokesperson Belinda Catchpole.
