PORT Shepstone Search and Rescue police officers, Warrant Officer Francois Pretorius, Warrant Officer Marc Wiid, Warrant Officer Rommel da Rosa and Warrant Officer Gawie Nel, held a water safety awareness campaign for Bhekameva School at St Faith sports ground in conjunction with stakeholders on Monday morning.

The community and pupils were taught about the procedures one needs to follow when playing in dams or rivers

Safety rules were also explained in detail.

“The local search and rescue team will extend this project to other schools in the area in the months to come,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid. - Supplied.
