Pool championships get the ball rolling

POOL enthusiasts from all over South Africa came to the South Coast for the National 8-ball Pool Championship 2017, hosted by Pool Billiards South Africa.

Teams from the Western Cape, Gauteng, Kimberley and local areas represented their province in the competition that started on April 23 and ends on May 6.

Representing KZN 240 players are participating, including juniors, women, seniors, masters­, opens, disability and referees.

On Monday the Fever met some of the teams at practice and chatted to pool champion, Mabuti Mbotjeni from Gauteng and his team.

Krish Reddy from KZN said the team is doing well and so far the masters are tied in first position­ with the seniors team taking second place.

Single and double matches started this Wednesday and on Friday and Saturday the finals will be played.
