TWO people were arrested on separate incidents for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs into the Port Shepstone police cells last week. SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said a 27-year-old female and 32-year-old male were arrested by Sergeant Zama Sikhakhane on Saturday and Sunday respectively as they came to visit prisoners in custody at the police cells in Port Shepstone.“The male suspect was placed under arrest when Sergeant Sikhakhane found loose dagga in a bag of maize meal and the woman was caught when Sergeant Sikhakhane discovered 18 whoonga capsules wrapped in plastic inside a bottle of body lotion,” said Wiid. The suspects will appear in court for possession of drugs soon. Port Shepstone station commander, Brigadier Sandra Nala thanked Sergeant Sikhakhane for being alert and thorough during the search of the visitors. – Supplied.
