PARENTS of Suid-Natal Primary pupils need not to worry about their children's safety at the school.

Many were worried after the news about the collapse of part of the school roof on Thursday broke out.

Department of Education (DoE) was contacted to confirm the incident and for comment regarding the stability of the wall and the safety of the children.

DoE confirmed the incident and said an official, Jaya Pillay, DoE physical resource planning unit and Sandi Meyiwa, control works inspector from the Department of Public Works and an engineer visited the site on Thursday to investigate.

The investigation revealed that the roof collapsed because of structural failure of that specific hall structure. The rest of the school is safe as classroom were not affected.

The DoE will be looking into fixing the roof soon.
