The Marilyn Medical Fund team recently put together a raffle as an initiative to raise funds for the continuous medical treatment which cardiovascular patient, Marilyn Rampersad, has to undergo.

Participants bought tickets for the raffle draw, which were sold over the month of July, and all proceeds collected went towards the fund.

The winner walked away with a 2200 litre Jojo tank generously donated by Easy Drain.

On August 4, a draw was done and Waheedah Hamid was the lucky winner of the brand new 2200 Jojo tank.

“Besides the excitement of winning, seeing a friend who is ill will encourage you to do whatever you can, whether it’s buying a raffle ticket or supporting initiatives to assist.

“I will definitely encourage the community to support future initiatives,” said Hamid.

Port Shepstone District Darts Association will be hosting the next fundraiser for the fund which takes place at Quenchers Pub and Grill.

“For those of you who are fanatics of angles and hand-eye co-ordination, join the Marilyn Medical Fund team on September 15 for their first darts competition fundraiser,” said chairman of the Marilyn Medical Fund Kaveer Surujpal.

For further information on the initiative contact Surujpal on 076 722 8714.
