RNM welcomes three department heads

2018-12-13 06:01

RAY Nkonyeni Municipality council evaluated the conclusion of the recruitment process for the appointment of heads of departments of Public Safety, Strategic Planning and Governance, as well as Corporate Services during a council meeting at the RNM council chambers last Wednesday.

Council first resolved to the appointments on October 9. Thereafter resolutions were forwarded to the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta). Cogta MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube then approved the appointments to be in line with the local government recruitment regulatory framework, thereby allowing for the assumption of duties of the respective appointees.

Therefore, as from November 1, Sibusiso Anselem Nzimande is the new HOD for Public Safety, Siyabonga Charles Zama will be heading Strategic Planning and Governance, and Nelisiwe Belinda Thabatha is to lead the Corporate Services Department.

All of the Heads of Department are appointed on a five-year fixed-term from November 1.

Council welcomed the MEC’s decision, and further wished them well in the execution of their duties.
