MANABA and Uvongo Community Policing Forums in conjunction with the SAPS, traffic department and security companies held a roadblock next to the Uvongo Birdpark last Wednesday.

Safety tips and smiles were handed out to motorists from 9am to 11am.

Manaba Community Safety Forum chairman Hennie van der Berg said the area has experienced an increase in the number of house breakings over the past few weeks.
“Crime statistics would have been far worse had it not been for the effort by all the crime fighting teams operating in Uvongo and Manaba. We are very proud to be involved in this initiative and would like to extend our sincere thanks to all authorities involved,” said van der Berg.

He invites anyone interested to join in to help make the community safer. - Supplied.
