PORT Shepstone Secondary school is known for producing students of a high academic calibre. This year top students were awarded for academic excellence at the annual awards function on Friday November 30 which was held at the school. Scooping a number of awards for her outstanding work throughout the year was Tineal Govender, who was honoured with the school’s Dux award. Tineal produced the highest distinctions in all learning areas and has a history of academic achievements. “It’s all glory to God for the position I’ve reached today and the constant support of my parents who have always stood by me. I also want to thank all of my educators who have groomed me, it was constant hard work and I’m extremely grateful. “Right now I’m waiting patiently for the final results and I’m so excited for the next chapter,” said Tineal. Students from Grade 8 to Grade 11 received their academic awards and are looking forward to the next year, while matriculates were awarded for their trial examination results and are eagerly awaiting their final results. “We are pleased with all the award recipients, they deserved it. I’m also so proud of my form class of 2018, well done!” said Mrs R. Govender, commerce educator of Port Shepstone Secondary School.
