ST Martin de Porres School invites everyone interested in learning sign language to join their basic sign language training classes this month.

Teachers started the campaign as part of their Deaf Awareness Month celebrations last month.

The classes, held by the school audiologist, Taskeen Ameer, and sign-language technician, Zamokuhle Xulu, were held every Tuesday with staff participation.

“On the last day we had a quiz to see if they were able to remember the new signs they learnt. There were two teams and both did well,” said Ameer. The school can be contacted 039 682 5725 for more information about the classes.

Tutorial videos and other details can also be accessed on their Facebook page under St Martin de Porres Comprehensive School Port Shepstone.
