Sheppy Cabs still in Ryder Street

2015-12-03 06:00

AFTER last week’s law enforcement operations and the Sizana- nazi Meter Taxi Association blocking illegal operations by Sheppy Cabs in Ryder Street, Sheppy Cabs are still operating there.

On Thursday Wiseman Zulu, from Sheppy Cabs, was contacted for feedback and follow-up after he said a few weeks ago that they were forming a legal association and were in contact with their attorneys who are trying to sort out the issue of permits for them.

Sizananazi deputy chair, Snothi Nyathi, said they met with the municipality on Tuesday to follow up on the situation, and the municipality told Sizananazi to give them more time.

Nyathi said Sizanani Meter Taxi Association received a letter from the municipality indicating that they can start operating in Ryder Street, but no date was given as to when this could take place.

Sheppy Cab operators are still on the stand and are operating as usual.
