Soccer article yields results, donations

2016-04-14 06:00

WITH reference to the article that appeared two weeks ago in the Fever (Gamalakhe soccer team seeks donations, 17 March), Ayob Moosa contacted me to arrange a soccer match between Gamalakhe Soccer Academy U13 and a visiting school Glenstantia U13 Soccer Team.

A grateful thank you to Moosa and Gamalakhe Academy committee for arranging this exciting game for the visiting school, which Glenstantia won 3-2.

A warm thank you to South City School who hosted the game at their grounds. Glenstantia donated three soccer balls to the academy as a thank you for hosting a fabulous game of soccer over the Easter holidays.

This type of spirit needs to be continued and with support from local companies and generous public donations, hopefully youth soccer and sport will grow in our community.

Any contribution will be appreciated to this worthy cause, let us all help in promoting our youth to get involved in sport and healthy living.
