FOUR South Coast bass association members competed in the KZN Small Craft Bass League (SCBL) final at Midmar dam on Saturday, November 10. A total of 50 anglers competed in the event.

South Coast Bass Association members performed very well with Allan Steyn landing second place, biggest bag and Manus Erasmus taking second place, biggest bass with a fish of 3.7kg.

The previous competition took place at Baynesfield dam in Eston last month and it was won by Brian Steyn, the son of Allan Steyn.

The KZN SCBL is a new bass fishing tournament that hosts eight competitions at different venues in KZN throughout the year. They just ended their first season. This new and exciting national tournament caters for all small craft fisherman.

Negotiations are underway with the South African Bass Angling Association that would qualify top anglers for KZN and Protea colours. At the moment, the top anglers nationwide qualify to compete in the American FLW league. The league strictly practices catch and release. — Supplied.
