THE South Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted an Agricultural Indaba at the Ugu Sport and Leisure Centre on Friday, October 19, which was attended by farmers and local business owners. Also in attendance was Department of Agriculture MEC Themba Mthembu, who spoke about agriculture and farming from a business perspective. Mthembu said, at a local level, agriculture can be seen as a catalyst in growing the economy. He said it is also expected to play a key role in job creation, as mandated by the national development plan, and it has to feature prominently on the agenda of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
