TOUGH St Michael’s sea conditions did not dampen the enthusiasm of the over 60 young surfers who competed in the 2016 South Coast Gromcomp, which ran for two days last weekend.
Boys and girls from around the country took part in the U10, U12, U14 and U16 competitions, and South Coast girl Maya Attfield came fourth in the U14 girls’ final.
The event formed part of the 2016 Surfing South Africa domestic surfing series and the surfers were competing for valuable Surfing South Africa ratings points and a share of the R8 000 in prize money. - Supplied.
