LOCAL youth organisation Synergy, will be hosting the inaugural Street Food Market and Crafted Beer event at the TB Molefe sports ground in Gamalakhe next month.

According to the owners Synergy is a platform for small business to showcase whatever they sell, educating the youth on career guidance and also to bring the community together to support small businesses whilst having fun.

The event on October 27 will be divided into two sessions.

“The first session is a family day infused with a picnic vibe, where we have also incorporated local schools to participate in different activities such as singing, dancing, and poetry from 10am to 4pm. There will be a designated area for children where they can engage in different games and fun activities for free,” said Synergy spokesperson Sanele Ogle.

“The second session will entail a festival feel to it, where people of the South Coast, Durban, Richards Bay, Pietermaritzburg, and Johannesburg and other areas will be enjoying our home grown talent whilst enjoying various kinds of food and drinks from local businesses,” said Ogle.

Ogle added that there will be different stalls boasting unique services including African, Western and Indian cuisine, with the widely enjoyed Shisanyama stand as the main eatery for the day.

The event will be held in Gamalakhe on Saturday, October 27. Gates will be open at 10am. For more information see Street Food Market Synergy on Facebook and Synergy Presents on Instagram.
