On Sunday, November 19, Provision golfers set out to compete in their annual Liverpool versus Manchester United fanatics’ golf tournament at Port Shepstone Country Club. With a break in the football season, fanatics geared up for a battle of the best and took to the golf course. A total of 67 golfers participated and competed socially. The high rivalry between both English football sides leaves supporters in constant debates about the history and the number of title cups each side has won; this convinced founders of the Provision Golf and Social Club to start this annual tradition on social terms to kick off the holiday season with the final competing tournament of the year being themed to match the die-hard fanatic sides. It was evident that each participant played their best game in the number of points tallied. In the end, it was up to team captains Kavish Naidu and Darshan Pather to deliver the results. The result was surprisingly not disappointing, with both teams in a draw and sharing the champion title. “Many thought this year was going to be Liverpool’s year but Manchester United lived up to their name,” said Kavish Naidu, captain of the Liverpool fanatics side. “This was a great event that ended our last fixture for the year, overall it was a fantastic year. Executive members would also like to commend each member of the Provision Golf and Social Club for their constant dedication to the sport and support of our club. Well done Provision family,” said vice chairman Preggie Perumal.
