Tennis tournament reels in on last day

THE South Coast Tourism Tennis Tournament was cancelled on Friday and Saturday due to the rain, but on Sunday a ray of sunshine cleared the way for the fun-filled activities.

Event organiser Natalie Grandin said the event was a success and thanked sponsors, South Coast Tourism, for their support.

“Everyone enjoyed themselves and commented on how beautiful the South Coast is,” said Grandin.

In the final results Mia Kotse was the winner for the under 12 girls, Nohlanhla Ngcobo for the under 16 girls, and Tyla Carter won the Open Women’s category.

For the boys, Mark van der Merwe won in the under 10s singles and Mark van der Merwe and Benjamin Wilson won the under 10s doubles, Siyabonga Jaca won the under 12s, Oliver Naude won the under 14s, and Joshua Edgar won the under 16s. The winner of the Open Men’s category was Kade Mindry.
