THE theme for this year’s Inkundla Theatre Festival 2016 was “Nothing is Human, Which is Foreign to Me”.

The event, hosted by the Hibiscus Coast Municipality and Ugu South Coast Tourism was held at Port Shepstone Civic Centre recently.

This is the sixth theatre festival where family and friends campaign against xenophobia and prepare to celebrate Women’s Month through theatrical performances from the youth.

Each performance was based on challenges that young people face every day.

Nine competitors participated in the event, each bringing their own unique talent and flavour.

However, only one could reign supreme and the winner was Palesa Dunywa with her performance You Owe Me.

In second place was Zamukhanya for Where Is Your Son? and third place Phathwa High School for Thando.

The most promising actor was Sibusiso Nzama from Way-Up Leaders and most promising actress was Palesa Dunywa.
