Transport indaba next month

THE goods transport sector plays a major role in the local economy.

In recognition of this, the South Coast Chamber of Commerce is holding an event on 2 November, which seeks to bring together the major role-players in the industry, with the aim of sharing critical information that can contribute to meaningful growth and transformation in the industry.

Chamber president, Vijay Naidoo­ said the Transport Education Training Authority will present its small business development strategy aimed at capacitating emerging operators, and the Road Traffic Inspectorate will provide a perspective on road safety issues pertaining to the goods transport operators.

The provincial Department of Transport will also provide an outline of some of its future plans. The event will also serve as a mini-exhibition for service providers in the sector.

Entrance is free, but admittance will be strictly by RSVP.
