TWO people were killed in an accident involving a head-on collision on the N2 near Paddock on Friday, August 3.

According to KZN EMS spokesperson Rob Mckenzie, a third person was also involved in the accident and he escaped with only minor injuries.

“The exact cause of this crash is not known at this stage,” said Mckenzie.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found two male victims, aged 35 and 38 year old, who were declared deceased on the scene and a third man who had sustained slight injuries.

“All of them were travelling in a red VW Polo that allegedly collided head–on with a truck. The names of the deceased have not been released until their next of kin have been officially informed,” said Margate SAPS spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka.

Paddock Detectives are investigating two counts of culpable homicide as well as reckless and negligent driving of a motor vehicle.
