UGU District Municipality’s efforts to improve customer relations are proving successful following the establishment the “Ugu Municipality Talk” Facebook page, which enables communication between the municipality and the community on service interruptions.

The municipality and the community have used the page to engage with the municipality’s mandated services of water and sanitation, thus improving the manner of communication and turnaround time of responding to customer queries.

Through this platform are able to receive and relay information to our rural and urban communities, and can also relay information about other community development initiatives implemented by the municipality to communities.

Our Facebook page has portrayed progressive growth with a membership of more than 2 000, reaching over 40 000 users a month, thus minimising call volumes through our customer call centre, thus ensuring better service.

With the continuously evolving world of technology, the municipality encourages the community to join this page as it is an instant interactive communication platform where they can report and receive information about service interruptions affecting their area without having to call or SMS our customer call centre.

Ugu District Municipality promotes working together to create an environment that is friendly, responsive, accountable, effective and efficient for local communities.
