THE much anticipated inaugural Ugu Jazz Arts Festival is finally here.

The main event for one of the biggest social events on the South Coast calendar takes place at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on Saturday, June 30.

Building up to the event , a series of activation shows took place all over the province and beyond with the latest in Durban’s Maxi’s last Saturday.

An exciting convoy will start from Port Shepstone to Mlazi.

At the activation show at Maxi’s, live performances by various renowned artists were enjoyed. Patrons also walked away with tickets to the festival and goodie bags.

This weekend festival events continue tomorrow where organisers from Cyassound Holdings will host a full day conference at Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre.

“The conference will see industry experts engaging on the arts and grooming arts practitioners within the province whilst providing empowering information and sharing skills,” said CEO of Cyassound Holdings Siyabonga Msomi.

The conference will be followed by the Ugu Jazz Arts Festival pre-party at Senzi’s in Margate tomorrow.

The main event at the Ugu Sports and Leisure will feature live performances from artists such as Oliver Mtukudzi, Selaelo Selota, Zonke, Mlindo The Vocalist, Bongani Nkwanyana, Khuzani, Bheki Nqoko, Skye Wanda, Sisanda Nilsson, Naledi Brown, Jazz clubs and many more.

Mandla Mdletshe, Tshatha Ngobe and Dj Oros will be programme directors on the day.

Finally on Sunday, July 1 a picnic will be hosted at Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre where more performances and will be seen.

Tickets for the main event are available at computicket nationwide. Parking ticket is R150, General R280, Golden circle R350 and VIP R1 200.
