Ugu launches new, responsive website

2016-06-09 06:00

IN keeping up with modern technology, while ensuring improved transparency, efficiency and effectiveness of external communications, Ugu District Municipality launched a new, more user-friendly website today.

The website, which has been in the making for months, has been designed to adhere to technology’s new dimensions of connectivity that requires effortless communication.

The website is not only functional via computers, it can also be reached through smartphones and Tablets.

We understand the evolving need of our customers in this ever-changing world of technological, and in view of this, the municipality’s long-term plans for this communication tool, with its external stakeholders, is to incorporate a portal where customers can pay for, view and download their accounts online, record meter readings, view payment history and update contact information.

This website also allows access to social media platforms such as Facebook and twitter as well as the municipal manager’s blog where customers will be updated on situation and can interact directly with the municipality.

Noting the shortfall of access to information on the old website, the municipality will ensure efficient access and easy navigation. The website will also ensure government web legislative compliance where role players, stakeholders and other interested parties will have a platform to access municipal documentation and information.

Visit to view the improved and customer-friendly website.

Ugu District Municipality promotes working together to create an environment that is friendly, responsive, accountable, effective and efficient for local communities.
