WOMEN should always empower and encourage each other instead of bring each other down.

That was the message Ugu District Manager DD Naidoo brought across during his address at the municipality’s Women’s Month celebration last Wednesday at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre.

The event was co-ordinated by municipality staff who went out all to obtain sponsors.

Felix Hlophe, stand-up comedian and radio jock, was emcee and the entertainment line-up featured municipality staff. Short plays, dances, song items, karaoke and a fashion show proved that women are multitalented.

To put the cherry on top, it was the municipality men who donned black suits, bow ties and hats and served their female colleagues lunch.
