AN interactive youth career seminar was held for unemployed youth with or without matric or a tertiary qualification, at the Izingolweni Municipality hall recently.

Event organisers from African Heritage Foundation, Intandane Marketing and Consulting, and Mazwakhe Trading, said the event aimed at offering guidance to unemployed youth during their job hunt.

African Heritage Foundation director Langalakhe Dhlomo facilitated the seminar. In his presentations he advised attendees on the various career opportunities available for them as well as the life skills necessary for their targeted field.

Attendees were addressed according to their various qualification categories and were offered ways in which they could upskill themselves, including attaining their matric qualifications, study bursaries for their tertiary education, as well as work experience opportunities like learnerships, internships, volunteering, part-time and casual work.

Intandane Marketing and Consulting director Mathabiso Cele said the event was a success.

“We wish to thank Izingolweni ward councillors and the chief liaison officer of the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, for allowing us to come and present youth career opportunities on their premises. We also wish to thank Slux’s Sound and Entertainment for sponsoring the event with sound,” said Cele.
