MY vehicle battery needed to be replaced. I had bought the battery within a one-year period from the merchants, who checked the faulty battery.
I was told that the merchants did not sell the make of battery, which they had removed from my Volkswagen Beetle.
In addition, the date on the battery was 2010. No battery has a lifetime of six years. The only explanation is that, during a service, my new and/or functioning battery had been removed and the old dud replaced.
Consequently, I am issuing vehicle owners a warning to inspect their vehicle after a service to ensure, to a certain extent, that they are not “taken for a ride”. It is unacceptable that it is the senior citizen who is always targeted.
