CHRISTMAS is a time for everyone to be joyful, but many children at the Margate Child Welfare Care Centre seldom get to experience that joy because they are not with loved ones or family.

Welfare manager Mandy Erasmus said children need to feel loved.

“Many of the children under our care don’t have the opportunity of knowing what the spirit of Christmas is all about. Being able to open a present on Christmas day brings smiles and tears of joy, knowing that someone really cares.”

She said as Child Welfare they ask the community to remember the children in their care.

“Our wish list for this Christmas could be anything - toys, treats or even breakfast items, such as cereal or anything that comes from the heart,” said Erasmus.

To donate contact Erasmus on 039 312 2015.
